ROOTED TO RELATE
Loyalty in Adversity
Krystian Belicki
Krystian shares about Ruth and Naomi whom we can read about in the Old Testament book of Ruth. After the tragic death of Naomi’s husband and the her two sons, Ruth remained loyal to her mother-in-law saying, “where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.” In much the same way, Jesus laid down His life for His friends (John 15:13). Ruth demonstrated remarkable faithfulness in the face of incredible adversity. Ruth and Naomi play an incredible role in history following the eventual marriage between Ruth and Boaz, who have a child who was to be the grandfather of King David, of the line of Jesus! Krystian concludes with the powerful point that God is still writing your story too!

Martha & Mary
Ethan Asplin
Ethan looks at the relationship between sisters Martha and Mary in the New Testament. We too can have very different personalities to our brothers and sisters and yet we can still share the same faith. In Luke 10, Martha served Jesus, whilst Mary did what is better by sitting at the feet of Jesus. In John 11, after the death of their brother Lazarus, Martha goes to find Jesus, whereas Martha stays at home. Upon finding Jesus, Martha convinced her sister to come to Jesus with the words, “The teacher is here and he is asking for you” which are the very words that Jesus is speaking to you as He encourages you to respond to Him. Martha and Mary were different, but they both got distracted, Martha with serving and Mary was consumed with her grief and yet they both responded to Jesus.
