Hebrews chapter 12 encourages us to throw off everything that hinders, to run with perseverance and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. In this message, Sara Jukes identifies the key to running with perseverance is joy! For the joy set before Jesus, He endured the cross. His joy far outweighed his suffering and the same could be said of us, if we fix our eyes on him. Not only do you have joy to endure, you also receive joy scorn shame. Shame causes us to hide in the wrong places, whereas Jesus encourages us to hide in him. Whenever we feel like giving up, we should take our eyes off our circumstances and remember to look to Jesus.
