FULFILMENT
Palm Sunday: The Huddle
Paul Jukes
Concluding our Fulfilment series on the heart, head, hands and huddle, Paul Jukes shared a Palm Sunday message about 3 huddles or crowds that Jesus faced and how He overcame them. As Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem, the crowd shouted, “Hosanna”, and yet the same crowd later called for His crucifixion. People are often moved by emotion, whereas faith is all about discipleship and steadfastness. In order to overcome our fickle nature, we need to be devoted. The second crowd, known as the religious elite, had a system that lacked mercy and grace. In order to overcome this, we need to be honest and true. Finally, in order to overcome the huddle of the inner circle we need forgiveness and grace. Jesus’ disciples, including Peter, vowed never to deny Jesus and yet they all betrayed Him. We, like Jesus, need to be people of devotion, honesty, forgiveness and grace.
