What’s so Special about Pentecost?

On the day of Pentecost, the disciples were all together and heard a sound like a violent wind from heaven, they saw what seemed to be tongues of fire, and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (Acts 2). The disciples went from timid people to courageous people, from inward-looking people to outward looking and they were all empowered to speak. Finally, Pentecost created a new, unified community.
