Loving God, Loving Yourself, Loving People

Continuing our Back to Basics series, Rob Pitts further elaborates on a verse quoted by Jesus when asked to name the greatest commandment. In Mark 12, Jesus responds by saying that, “you must love the Lord your God … and … ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’” This is an all-in command and not an half-hearted option. The love mentioned in this verse is first of all, a love for God, secondly a love for yourself and finally, and of equal importance, a love for other people.
