In 2 Samuel, chapter 6, we read about King David who danced ‘before the Lord with all his might.’ Michal, David’s husband and the daughter of the old king (Saul), despised him in her heart. David listened to the voice of God, whereas Michal was still listening to the voice of Saul. We can often do the same thing, by listening to the voices of other people over the voice of God. David knew that he was chosen, whereas Michal was insecure, forgetting that she was the bride of the King!
