Psalm 91
Dave Leese
Using the analogy of an online competition, with a prize, terms and conditions and even small print, Dave Leese shares about Psalm 91. To enter, all we need to do is say the lines of verse 2, “He is my refuge, and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust.” Verses 14 and 15 talk about the prizes available to us. God will rescue us, acknowledge our name, He will answer our cries, be with us in trouble, deliver us, honour us, satisfy us, and show us our salvation. In Dave’s own words, “If you put God in His rightful place, He will keep you in yours and that’s a deal worth having!”
Psalm 37
Jo Royle
Using the picture of a window, Jo Royle takes us through Psalm 37, highlighting three features of a window that can help us understand this Psalm. Firstly, there exists a frame and in Jo’s words, “a framework to freedom”. God’s plan is unique to each of us it is godly living that provides the structure and framework that we need. Psalm 37 is filled with countless promises that provide the most beautiful scenic view. Every good window needs an opening mechanism to experience the view in full. Jesus is the way, and He is the inheritance that this Psalm talks of so much.
