Psalm 121
Alistair Drayton
As part of our Summer Psalms series, Alistair Drayton shares a message on Psalm 121. Using his recent experience of climbing mount Snowdon, Alistair, shares about Psalm 121, a “song of ascent” written by King David. This Psalm encourages us to look up, watch our feet and to trust in God. God is bigger than the mountains and He is always with us, protecting us and working for our good.
Psalm 143
Ethan Barrett
In Ethan’s own words, Psalm 143 is like a huggable prayer. It offers us insight into the relationship that God had with King David, a man after His own heart. We see that David changed his perspective whilst going through a tough time of life. He was in hiding due to his own son’s rebellion and betrayal, but it was his knowledge of God and his remembering what God had done for him, that got him through. Hugs aren’t just for happy occasions, and like Psalm 143, we see David being raw and real with God. This vulnerability allows David to embrace God. Notice that David uses the term ‘Lord’ to reference God. Like David, we are encouraged to ask Jesus to be our own personal Lord and Saviour.
